Job Title: Lil Coasters Room Leader
Hours: Full-time, 30 hours/weekly Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:30pm
Location: Mount Pleasant, SC
This position reports to: Lil Coasters & Evening Childcare Manager

The Lil Coasters Team cares for our staff children by providing a environment, where kids learn about the love of Jesus, grow skills in basic and introductory preschool concepts, and develop friendships and social skills.
The Room Leader is responsible for the overall environment of their assigned classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a standard of high-quality care in assigned room environment
The number one priority is the responsibility for the children in your care, ensuring a safe and healthy environment at all times.
Minimize risks in every classroom setting, including keeping the room clean and free of danger
Maintain thorough knowledge of safeguarding, emergency and security procedures following through with proper protocols on actions, required documentation, and reporting any incident or concerns to the Lil Coasters Manager
At the end of each day, spend 15 minutes with Lil Coasters Manager to debrief and plan for the upcoming day/week.
Lead Curriculum and ensuring an environment that stimulates children and aids in each childs personal development
Create intentional moments for children to encounter Jesus, learn basic and introductory preschool concepts, and invest in the overall development and learning of every child
Establish a play-based learning program that is both engaging and inclusive for all children, encouraging all teachers to be involved and engaging with the kids
In support of Lil Coasters Manager, train and share knowledge to improve practices with new and current staff
Build a positive relationship with other staff members within your room
Encourage the room staff and collectively deliver the best childcare possible
Mentor new staff members through training sessions and preparing them to handle day-to-day duties.
Promote parent involvement and communication
Create opportunities for open communication between parents and teachers
Establish process for documenting child's day on the Daily or Weekly Summary Report
Ensure all relevant information about a child is provided to and from parents during pick up and drop off
Encourage other room staff to build positive relationships with parents and caretakers.
Team Player
Actively participate in weekly staff meetings; attend one-on-one meetings with leader; attend monthly All-Staff meeting
Support the goals of the team by demonstrating teamwork and performing other duties as requested
Job Essentials:

Must have at least 2 years experience in a childcare setting
Must be CPR trained (may be obtained upon hire)
Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
Ability to maintain positive working relationships, building rapport and trust with peers, parents, and children
Role model for both staff and children
Ability to remain calm and confident in busy, stressful situations ensuring the best decisions are
Positions requires standing and bending for long periods of time, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs
