Summary
Nia Infant Toddler and Child Development Center is actively hiring educators for the infants through preschool age groups.
Upon hiring you will be trained to our philosophy, policies, procedures and general caring for our children.
This person will need to have a flexible schedule and enjoy working with children.
I am looking for someone full of energy, organized, punctual, and ready to work up to full time hours.
There will be a set shift between the hours of 7 am and 5:30 pm.
The following requirements all candidates considered are:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent
- Health statement and TB test required
- Current CPR/ 1st Aid Certification preferred
- Must have completed ECD 101 course or degree in ECD and have certificate/ transcript for verification or current CDA
- Must have interpersonal skills for with coworkers, parents, and community members
- Must have mature and responsible attitude towards work
- Must be able to lift 20 - 25 pounds and be able to frequently sit on floor and stand for long period of time.
** This position will may require the individual hired to attend college classes at Trident Technical College while working.

Duties
Both positions will be responsible for the following duties on different levels:
Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the Center's philosophy
Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities
Establish and carry out a daily activity schedule that incorporates child directed activity, care routines and transition times
Organize space, equipment and materials for activities
Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations
Provide positive guidelines such as redirecting, positive language, and positive reinforcement
Ensure the child's environment is healthy and safe
Complete the health and safety forms weekly for indoors and out doors
Follow the Center's procedures for administering medications and maintaining health Records
Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Center's Director or delegate and
record such incidents in the daily log book
Attend to children's physical needs for toileting, diapering, eating and sleeping as promptly as possible
Report all incidents of child abuse to the Director and follow Centers procedure and government regulations
Release children only to authorized persons
Ensure positive communication with parents
Carry out the responsibilities assigned to you
Attend regular staff meetings
Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the Centers' children, their parents, and staff
Maintain regular work attendance and punctuality
Promote the Center within the community
Ability to be energetic, resilient and maintain a sense of humor when personal resources are challenged
High degree of personal initiative with good planning and organizational skills
Maintains timely and accurate files
Continuing personal and professional development in ECE
