Job Summary
The Export Customer Service manages data for international shipments and provides support for the transportation process.
Works with clients, freight forwarders and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier).
Helps in executing all the steps required to process the reservation of an export shipment.
Key responsibilities & duties
Prepares the bookings in MSC internal system based on client’s requests and needs and updates the information in the MSC system accordingly.
Assumes documentary and customer service responsibilities for all assigned shipments.
Acts as an intermediary between clients and other MSC’s departments.
Keeps record and maintains the performance of MSC’s fleet for the scope’s main services.
Ensures a monitoring process of the bookings in order that client’s requests are matched.
Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with clients.
Assists clients in troubleshooting and problem solving regarding the bookings assigned.
Keeps a good level of communication with clients and other parties matching the guidelines of the company.
Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for immediate resolution.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Required skills and abilities
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
English: advanced
Strong attention to details and critical thinking skills
Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Great team player
Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
Preferred skills, experience, education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, administrative or clerical jobs
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
