Position Purpose
Processor will be assigned one or a number of the following areas of responsibility within the department.
While the assigned area of responsibility will be their primary duty, the Processor will provide back up to all other areas within the department daily or as needed.
This role will be accountable to complete all assigned compliance and information security training and comply with the credit union’s policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Duties & Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for: Processing mail daily, including corporate payments.
Responsible for tax levies, subpoenas, garnishments, and employee reimbursements.
Scan as necessary.
Process Online Accounts Funding using Loans PQ in Symitar.
Responsible for balancing the GL.
Process 945 Tax-IRA Federal Withholding bi-weekly.
Update or close PFP Insurance accounts.
Responsible for reporting and handling of Dormant accounts.
Responsible for scanning and indexing all documentation received from credit union departments/branches.
Process, sort and prepare all documents to be scanned.
Follow standard imaging guidelines to ensure documents are properly imaged.
Index all document types accurately; analyze documents for clarity and accuracy.
Responsible for monitoring the quality of scanned documents received from departments/branches.
Perform quality checks on all scanned documents by verifying images are clear and the document is in its entirety (is viewable and legible).
Ensure indexed values are correct, including the names of the documents, member name, account number as well as effective and expiration dates.
Returns all unacceptable documentation back to department/branch for corrections.
Responsible for account review and backing off loan payments if required by request.
Responsible for maintaining Account Servicing Specialist procedure manual.
Manages return mail and re-distribution.
Complete VOM’s and payoff request on a daily basis.
Maintains report reflecting the number of documents scanned each month and advises department manager of trends.
Assumes responsibilities for related duties as required or assigned.
Skills & Qualifications Education/Certification & EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required Prior banking experience is required.
Minimum 1-year experience in a detail focused or analytical type of position for internal applicants Minimum 2 years’ experience in a detail focused or analytical type of position for external applicants Skills/ABILITIES: Must have excellent attention to detail to assure accuracy in every transaction performed, detect errors, and follow through on corrections of details.
Must understand broad concepts of technology and the potential of automation in completing work and improving efficiency within various functions Must possess technical skills in order to use various software systems.
Must understand the fundamentals of lending and loan processing for a variety of loans.
Must be able to learn and interpret laws and regulations that impact loan functions.
Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to function well in a multiple project environment.
The ability to express thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in written form to a variety of audiences.
