Job Description Summary Job Summary: The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty position.
The academic appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the tenure track series.
The successful candidate will complement the diverse research portfolio and strengths of our department and university, which includes T cell and regulatory cell biology, adoptive cellular therapy, transplant immunology, innate immunity, neuroimmunology, autoimmunity, and infectious disease pathogenesis.
Where as candidates conducting cutting-edge research in the above areas of immunology and host defense are especially encouraged to apply, candidates in other areas will be considered.
Ideal applicants will be creative and collaborative scientists and will be expected to establish and maintain a rigorous extramurally funded research program, as well as to participate in our strong graduate training programs.
The scientific environment within the College of Medicine and in the Department is highly interactive and productive, with strong ties on campus to other Basic Science and Clinical Departments, as well as Research Centers and Institutes.
