The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Surgery is seeking a board certified/board eligible Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon interested in an academic Surgery position at the Assistant Professor level.

The Division of General Surgery has fully accredited programs for general surgery residency training, as well a surgical critical care fellowship.
A strong interest in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery are a must.
Interest in acute care surgical robotics, rib fracture fixation, and burn care are desirable.
The Medical University of South Carolina main hospital and the Ashley River Tower hospital have a combined bed capacity of over 800 beds.
MUSC is rapidly expanding additional clinical sites including a new Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital (250 beds) and both Pediatric and Adult Burn facilities scheduled to open within the next academic year.
MUSC is a level one trauma center serving the “Low Country” of South Carolina, population of over 900,000 people, and we are an American College of Surgeons Verified Level I Trauma Center.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate an interest in research, graduate, and undergraduate education.
Required qualifications include successful completion of an approved General Surgery residency program and board eligibility or certification in Surgical Critical Care.
