QNAP TVS-473e NAS - $375 (Summerville)

This is a used QNAP TVS-473e NAS.
It has been my home media server and a great home for my music, movies and shows.
I also used it for pictures, documents and files as a secure personal cloud.
It is a high-end SOHO NAS with a quad-core processor capable of multiple streams using your favorite media center.
It will also do hardware transcoding for smooth playback.
I ran several applications on it, and it never got bogged down.
It is also a native security camera server (NVR) and will serve as a VPN server and other network functions.
The NAS is still supported by QNAP and I checked on EoL.
QNAP states that it will be supported for quite some time and will still receive security updates and firmware in the future.
It is not that old and looks brand new so you can display it with your media equipment or put is somewhere inconspicuous.
It is very quiet.
The NAS comes unpopulated.
It will take 4 hard drives.
I ran 4 18TB drives in a RAID 5 configuration, but you can run whatever size drives you want.
It is very quick and has 4 network ports as well as 2 expansion slots, 2 slots for additional SSD Drives, 4 NICs and 2 expansion ports for extension cabinets.
(I ran two on it with 4 18TB drives each.
It was a LOT of storage!) If you are in the market for a newer NAS or have never built a media center but are really interested, this is the NAS for you! It comes in the original box and packaging with the original accessories.
It really is like new.
The NAS was around $1,000 new so this is a great deal on a high-end NAS for your entertainment or networking system.
